Genealogy Research After my father died in 1989, I found an amazing document among his papers. It was an 60 page, hand typed "Family History" researched by my Great-uncle William Homes Bryan between 1910 and 1941. In 1997, I decided to format the document into html and update it if I could. I got farther than I ever thought possible, tracing the family back to Delaware in the early 1700's. I went on to trace and document other families I was related to, and my husband's family. I consider the interviews I've done with the older family members to preserve their stories and traditions to be gifts to my great-grandchildren. Garden Research and Projects My interests are varied, but topics that I have spent a lot of time on in the past few years are: shade gardening in zone 5, shade tolerant roses, bulbs, fragrant shrubs, and fruiting shrubs. Education House Restoration In 1999, my husband Rich and I bought a neglected Craftsman style foursquare that was built in 1909. After 5 years, two more babies, and a 20,000 lb tree smahing through the roof (Mother's Day 2003), we continue the process of restoration. |
