Scores of suburbanites have reported seeing robins, but not many have had the pleasure of seeing a hundred or more of the red-breasted harbingers of spring in their own yards.
Yet, that was the experience of the W. W. Birkins, 301 South Kenilworth avenue, Elmhurst, Last Thursday a migrating flock of robins dropped in for dinner at the Birkin yard, apparently having had advance notice that plenty of food was available there. They stayed most of the afternoon, but by next morning nearly all of them were gone, presumably to continue further north.
The Birkins have been feeding birds all winter, and report having had cardinals, bluebirds, juncos and other kinds of birds as their feathered guests.
